The proceeds from this exhibition of postcard sized works benefit the A.I.R. Fellowship Program for Emerging and Underrepresented Artists and other programs that serve A.I.R.’s mission to advance the status of women in the arts.
Wish You Were Here 14 exhibits original works by more than 300 artists including such artists as Barbara Zucker, Mary Grigoriadas, Lourdes Asencio, and Aaron Morgan. The 4” x 6” artworks were created and donated by A.I.R. Gallery artists, and hundreds of national and international artists from as far away as Australia, Israel, and Japan. These cards vary widely in style and media and encompass a broad spectrum of themes. Each card is signed and dated, often with a message on the back from the artist to the collector. All 4” x 6” art works are priced at $45 per piece.

Judith Scott has a retrospective of her phenomenal sculpture at The Brooklyn Museum showing until March 29. The museum chose this photo I took of the artist in 2002 for the catalog and I am honored to be included in the book. I'll be visiting the show in person next month and can't wait to see so many of her pieces in one place, she was a friend, collaborator and huge inspiration.

Atlas Coffee in the South of A district of Santa Rosa has some of my drawings and sculpture up for the month of September. They make a great espresso and have Revive kombucha on tap , turntable  and a plant-filled courtyard.There are also some monoprints by Dana Hansen and photos by Olivia Browning.

SVMA Art Cards Show 12/15/12

 I have these two hand-stitched, ink drawings at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art opening this Saturday.

From the SVMA website:

Join us for a holiday party and be here for the first view of the Art Cards exhibition and sale. These are miniature works made by artists and friends of the Museum, some very well known, some not. We expect to have about 200 miniature works of art for holiday giving or for your own collection.

My first kid-free overnight was spent at the Regency Ballroom,a former Masonic Hall and an amazingly vast, pristine and varied piece of architecture. Each floor completely different and gorgeous in it's own way. I saw Sleep play on the Ballroom floor and was blown away all over again.

A New Year

I resolve to choose my words more carefully and get out of the house more. My tendency is to hide out in my house for days at a time, and not just when the weather is bad. I also have a tendency to say more than is necessary and/or helpful. In 2010 I will be doing more getting out and shutting up.

SFMOMA Artist's Gallery Holidaze show, 12/12/09

I'm celebrating my birthday this year by being in a show at SFMOMA Artist's Gallery, Saturday, December 12. I'll be showing off and selling all our new Evo Noche gear, along with lots of other great artists and designers like Sita Rupe Paintings and Good On Paper hand-printed stationary. Charmed Life was influenced by maps of car crash routes,documented telephone conversations and injuries of the spine. This piece was shown at the On Six Gallery in San Francisco in 2005.

The Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek was given a diseased, 300 year old oak tree. The fallen tree was cut into pieces and given to artists who transformed the wood into sculpture for the
"Big Tree Project"."The Imposition" was included in the show. Working with wood was a departure for me, usually the materials I work with are soft and flexible but by drilling holes and threading them with zip-ties, I gave a nod to my fascination with sewing.
